More bashings but also arrests

Last month I blogged about the brutal bashing and sexual assault of a 60 year old man at Victoria Park, a Ballarat beat.

Well, there's been another two attacks with exactly the same modus operandi, with a group of four men attacking another man at Victoria Park, and another only an hour later at Black Hill Lookout last Thursday.

This time though, there's some good news. I've just spoken to the Ballarat police, who tell me they've arrested two men aged 18 and 19, and two minors over the assaults. One other offender is still at large.

I'll update once I know any more about the outcomes of this story.

That is terrible news but with a great result, I hope these little fucks are persecuted to the full extent of the law. The problem is its a gay hate crime and they are minors. They are disgusting in my view and it saddens my heart to think what they have done.
Has it been reprted in mainstream news yet?

The Hard Life of an Absintheur

Finished work last night and went out for a quick Vietnamese meal in the city before embarking on a brief absinthe tour of two Melbourne bars, The Toff in Town and Cookie , which helpfully are in the same building as one another. (As an aside, the links above are to Age reviews of the bars; and really, they should take their photos at night, as the daylight photos on the paper's website are utterly lacking in atmosphere). The Toff had a very limited range of brands on offer; only four, one of which was the utterly vile Green Fairy brand, which all good absintheurs should avoid like the plague.
